Weekly Alluviance #175: How transformation ripples outward

Your weekly dose of Alluviance!

Long before Alluviance existed, I was sitting in an immersion as a participant.

I was the guy in the room trying to figure himself out.

Trying to understand the ache underneath all the achievement.

I remember one moment where I got up in front of the room and shared something that felt so alive, so me.

It wasn’t polished. It was raw. It was real.

But it was true.

Afterward, people came up to me and told me what it opened for them.

How something I said helped them see something in their own life.

That was one of my first real experiences of how transformation ripples outward.

I took that energy back to work the next week.

Same office.

Same team.

Same job.

Different Alex.

I was more open. More grounded. Less interested in performing the buttoned-up version of myself just to be taken seriously.

And people felt it.

My CRO told me later: “You’d return recommitted to your journey. New awareness. New language. And the team would commit, too.” That stayed with me.

Because now I see this at almost every immersion we lead.

Someone steps more into themselves and the room gets new information.

Someone tells the truth, and suddenly someone else has access to a truth they were hiding.

Someone drops the armor, and the armor gets heavier for everyone else.

That’s the thing about this work.

Your permission to be yourself gives other people permission to be themselves.

Your honesty creates room for honesty.

Your freedom creates room for freedom.

And it does not stop in the room.

I hear it from our clients all the time.

They go home and their spouse feels it.

They go back to their team and conversations change.

They show up to sales calls with less performance and more presence.

People may not always have language for what shifted, but they can feel it.

Transformation starts inside you, but it is not a one-player game.

This is the piece I think we miss.

Your inner work is never just yours.

The more honest you become, the more honesty becomes available around you.

The more free you become, the more freedom people can feel in your presence.

That’s the ripple.

One person telling the truth.

One room getting safer.

One life becoming more real.

And then another.

And another.

Beginning of the beginning.

For 4 years I've stood on stages telling salespeople the same thing:

Your PRESENCE is the greatest GIFT you can give.
