Weekly Alluviance #177: Your ambition needs a nervous system

Your weekly dose of Alluviance!

There's a huge myth about the inner game that I have to dispel over and over again:

Most high-achievers don't need less ambition.

Their body needs to feel safe holding it.

I love ambition.

I want the big vision.
I want to grow the company.
I want to help a lot of people.

And I also know what it feels like when ambition starts running through a body that is braced for impact.

Tight chest.
Fast mind.
Calendar packed.
Phone always nearby.

Every delay feels like danger.
Every “no” feels a little too personal.
Every open space becomes something to fill.

That version of ambition can look impressive from the outside.

But inside, it is pure survival hell.

That’s when ambition stops being devotion and starts becoming a nervous system strategy.

Sales reveals this SO fast.

Because the energy underneath the ambition always leaks.

That’s why the deeper work is not becoming less driven.

It’s becoming more connected while you drive.

Can you want the outcome without handing it your worth?
Can you pursue the vision without abandoning your body?
Can you build something big without making everyone around you carry your urgency?

That’s the work.

Learning how to breathe while you build.
Learning how to pause before you push.
Learning how to come back to yourself before the old program takes over.

I’m still in this practice.

Big time.

Because the future I want to build cannot be created from a body that is constantly at war with the present.

That’s what I’m learning.

Ambition needs breath.

It needs trust.

It needs a nervous system that can hold desire without turning it into desperation.

The most important meeting on my calendar is from 7-10 am every day. The only person on the invite is me.
I call it "CEO Yin-Time" and it's blocked and non-negotiable.
It took me years to build the nerve to protect it.
