Death and regrets are probably not the first topics you'd expect from a newsletter about sales. But then again, Alluviance newsletters aren't here to keep you comfortable.
I posted a cryptic message on LinkedIn that I've been thinking about one of the top 5 regrets of the dying. Many of you shared similar feelings about #4 on the list which was a sure sign for me to dig in:
"I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not to the life others expected of me"
To me, this is about choosing authenticity over expectation, and it's no straightforward task. Society, and sales in particular, is structured in a way that wants you to stay on the well-trodden path. The solace of this predictability is alluring and feels really safe. Nothing inherently wrong
