"Hey Alex - what is an immersive experience and why are you always talking about them?"
That's a question I get a lot. With less than two weeks to go until our next In-Person Retreat, I want to really help drive this point home.
In the past 7 years I’ve been to over 75 retreats specializing in meditation, selling, leadership, or overall personal development. There's a formula to this stuff. The consistent throughline between all of them is complete and total immersion, because:
Immersion = Accelerated Learning
If you want to learn how to surf, go spend a week in Costa Rica with a professional. You'll advance much farther and faster than if you surfed just once a year over the next 7 years.
The same principle applies to transformation and personal development. You can meditate on your cushion every day for 10 minutes for an entire year and make little progress or you can go to a 7 day meditation retreat and get your world rocked.
There is an intense focus and heightened engagement that becomes possible during an immersion.
Something else special happens with immersive experiences though that lets the magic shine through. There is a moment when the community collectively agrees to let their guard down, to open up, to be real and raw, and to go deep. This is when real breakthroughs become possible. You don't get that on zoom. You don't get that in webinars or digital courses. You get that authenticity and vulnerability being in community with each other.
