Weekly Alluviance #115: Roots, Not Handshakes

Your weekly dose of Alluviance!
I’m fresh off my wedding weekend, and it was more perfect than I could have imagined. Now, I’m bringing that joy, energy, and fire to this week’s newsletter.
But this isn’t about flowers, vows, or first dances. It’s about what hit me, standing in the freezing cold, surrounded by people I love.
We planned this epic outdoor setup, but the weather had other ideas. It was cold. Like, borderline brutal. People were shivering, and we almost moved everything inside. But then the live band kicked off, and we made a call: rally for two songs. That two turned into eight. And honestly? The cold turned into the best part. Because it made everyone send it. Full-out dancing, laughing, embracing the moment like it was all we had.
That energy. That fire. That’s what happens when you’re surrounded by people who truly love you. Who don’t just show up when it’s easy, but lean in when it’s uncomfortable.
This weekend, I brought together every chapter of my life: childhood friends, college crew, coworkers, fellow founders, family. All in one place. It was surreal. And yeah, a little scary. Especially opening up deeper conversations with family and bringing them into the emotional, spiritual world that’s become my center. That vulnerability was a risk… but it brought us closer.
And it reminded me of something we all forget in the grind:
Sales is a battle. Entrepreneurship’s a rollercoaster. Life? It’s messier than both. You don’t get through it solo.
It’s not about how many people are in your network. It’s about the ones who’d fly cross-country, freeze their toes off, and dance in the cold just because they love you.
You want depth. You want roots that can weather any storm. That’s the real win.
So here’s your move for the week:
Text one person who’s been that for you.
No pitch. No strategy. Just: “Thanks for being real.”
That kind of love? It's rare. Hold onto it.

We went horseback riding the other weekend.
The horse they gave me? Rambunctious. Full of energy. Definitely not the chill, easy trail horse I had in mind.
