Your weekly dose of Alluviance!
This is our fourth and final part of our "back to basics" series of where to begin with the Inner Game. If you need continuity and missed the first 3, you can find them here: 128, 129, 130.
John Wooden, arguably the greatest college basketball coach of all time, dedicated the first practice of every single season to one thing.
Not shooting drills. Not passing. Not defense.
He taught his players how to put on their socks and tie their shoes properly.
He knew that championships aren't won in the final seconds. They are built on a foundation of doing the small things with absolute intention.
This is our shoelace moment.
The Inner Game isn't a massive life overhaul. It's forged in the commitment to a simple, non-negotiable ritual.
Your task is to pick one (just one, you over achievers 🤣) of the following for the next 7 days:
Make the bed the moment your feet hit the floor. Zero scrolls before sheets.
Take a 1-minute breath reset before every sales call. Clock it, eyes closed.
Slow first five bites of every meal. Chew, taste, feel the fuel.
Choose your own that is a) very simple and b) brings conscious awareness to the moment.
Ritual = pre-loaded decision.
You stop negotiating with laziness and start compounding intention.
Momentum sneaks in disguised as simplicity.
This isn't about having a tidy bed or better digestion.
It's about sending a signal to your nervous system: “I keep the promises I make to myself.”
That single act builds the self-trust that you will draw on when the pressure is on and a deal is on the line.
This is how I would get started with the Inner Game if I had to start over from the beginning today.
So, here is the challenge. Final boss time.
Reply right now with the simple ritual you’re locking in.
Reply again in 7 days with “Done.”
Less than 0.1% of you will hit “send” twice.
Be the outlier.
