Weekly Alluviance #139: What "Done" Really Means

Your weekly dose of Alluviance!
I underestimated how powerful it can be when "done" really means done.
“Let’s sync next week” isn’t done.
“Wed 9am, 45 minutes, you + Ops lead, goal is to pressure-test the workflow and decide go/no-go” is done.
“Great call. Let’s follow up” isn’t done.
“I’ll send a one-page recap by 3pm with Problem, Impact, Future State so we can book the next working session” is done.
This isn’t a productivity hack. It’s respect. It's a way of being.
When "done" is absolutely clear, anxiety drops, decisions get faster, and people trust you more because nothing is hiding in the fog.
You can feel it with prospects, coworkers, and even intimate relationships.
If you want to lead, this is one of the cleanest signals you can send. Speak plainly. Put names on owners. Put dates on actions. Put a checkmark next to the thing when it’s finished. Become dependable for bringing completion to anything you do.
Make it clear what “done” means. Then do it.
That alone will move more deals than another hour of call blocks. |
