Weekly Alluviance #145: It's going to be alright

Your weekly dose of Alluviance!
It is so easy to get caught up in the little things that don't really matter.
The eight great calls this week are forgotten, but the one that bombed lives rent-free in your head. The one prospect who ghosted somehow feels heavier than the four others who are moving forward.
This isn't a personal flaw. It's a feature of our ancient survival hardware. Our brains are hardwired to scan the horizon for threats, to obsess over what’s wrong so we don't die.
And in this modern world, that feature is still calling the shots. It can become a prison, quickly forming a hurricane of self-doubt and anxiety that hijacks our attention and steals our joy.
The work of the Inner Game isn't about pretending the storm doesn't exist. The frustration and feelings are real.
Our work is to consciously build a connection to the openness. That vast, clear, visionary part of you that knows the storm will pass. It’s about learning to access that deep, quiet confidence that whispers: it's going to be alright.
When you can't connect to that feeling? That’s the signal. That’s the moment the real practice begins. It’s the opportunity to zoom out, take a breath, and choose where you put your focus.
Case in point: this newsletter is late.
Our standard is to be in your inbox first thing Wednesday morning. That did not happen this week. The "uh oh, we messed up" story started to spin.
And then we took a breath. We remembered the mission. We knew delivering this with intention was more important than delivering it on time.
We knew it was going to be alright.
The work isn't about avoiding the static. It's about remembering the music. |
