Weekly Alluviance #55: Can we talk about love in sales?
YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF ALLUVIANCE!
Welcome to the special Valentine's Day edition of the Alluviance Newsletter where we're going to talk all about love. Sort of. You'll see.
Alluviance is all about transforming the inner game to master the craft of sales. In an industry that is heavily male dominated and can at times be a bit of a bro culture, we're going to dedicate this entire edition to the importance of love for the modern sales professional.
I'm sure some of these will be very familiar to you, especially for our loyal readers, while some of it may be new or a different take on some things you've heard before.
With that said, here's are list of all the ways that love is critical in sales:
Self-Love: the best sales professionals I know make self-care a top priority to prevent burnout and maintain peak performance.
Love for Connection: building genuine relationships that go beyond the transaction will serve you many times over throughout your career
Love for the Moment: I know a top performer who would say a quick prayer before every demo so that he could show up most powerfully for his prospect in that moment - that's love!
Love for Community: the Alluviance community is a powerful example of how to bring love and support into community and the potential that's created when it's done right
Love the Silence: silence is golden whether its through meditative practices or valuing the power of pausing and not over-talking in negotiations
Love for Feedback: we get direct feedback from every call and demo we do, and those who embrace this will accelerate faster
Love of Listening: sales professionals are the best listeners and this love will carry over into all areas of your life
Love Your Failures: you signed up for a career of rejection and have an opportunity to let each 'no' make you even better
Love your Victories: celebrate every win, big or small, with genuine joy
Love the Impact: truly caring about your product and client is everything and this impact even extends to what it will do for the clients' lives and their businesses and their clients
Love the Hustle: appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to succeed in sales knowing that your effort is directly proportional to your results
Love the Journey: stay curious and committed to personal and professional growth as you uplevel in all that you do
Love Something Bigger: a huge component of the inner work that we do is to connect to something bigger than ourselves that will fuel us in all areas of work and life
As we wrap up this Valentine's Day edition, let us remember that love is the ultimate differentiator in a crowded market. Whether it's the love for our craft, the deep connections we create, or the impact we have, each aspect of love enriches our journey. Let's carry this love forward, not just today, but in every interaction and every deal we close. Because at the end of the day, love isn't just what makes us better sales professionals; it's what makes us better people.

This week we're throwing it back to an amazing episode with JC Pollard that just so happens to be the first video we ever posted to our Youtube channel almost a year ago. This episode is full of gems like how to crush your stretch goals and unlocking unwavering confidence.
Find it on Spotify, Apple Podcast, and Youtube.
2. Featured LinkedIn Post:
"Flipping the script"
I talked to an SDR who booked 28 meetings on the phone last month, here's how they how to handle the "I'm too busy right now, can you call me back later?" objection via coldcall.
3. Quote to fuel your Alluviance:
"You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection." – Buddha (likely an incorrect attribution, but we like it anyways)
Love in sales isn't just a nice-to-have or a clichè; it's a must-have.
