Your weekly dose of Alluviance!
Life doesn’t give a damn about your plans. It’ll flip the table, spill your coffee, and dare you to do something about it. Two and a half years ago, that’s exactly what happened to me. And it turned out to be the best chaos I’ve ever faced.
I got fired from Outreach. Five years of my soul poured into that role. Building teams, moving to NYC, hiring 20+ reps. All of it gone in a 9am Monday gut punch.
Devastated? Hell yes. Done? Not a chance.
That very next morning, I went on a long run and made a decision. This isn’t my ending. It’s the beginning of the beginning. No blueprint, no vision board, no 5 year plan. Just a burning fire to do something. So I did:
Launched The Rising Leader podcast
Committed to posting on LinkedIn daily
Started this newsletter (shout out to the 17 of you who got that first newsletter delivered to your inbox)
Built an online course that you've never heard of because it was a flop
Each move was a guess and that was the point. A friend dropped this powerful framework about vision that really stuck with me:
You don't have to know the whole path. You only have to take the next step, assess, recalibrate, repeat.
The podcast sparked connections. The newsletter grew to thousands of you all. The flop taught me what I didn't want to be doing. I threw an immersion to test the waters. We had four people there. I felt so alive. Game on.
Each step put me into action. Each step showed me a little more.
It's been 16 months since that first immersion. We've served almost 400 sales professionals. We now sell out every immersion we host. And still, I'm taking one step closer to my vision every chance I get. That's the whole ball game.
Here’s the secret: You don’t need your life fully figured out. Take what you’ve got, pick a direction, step forward. See if it brings you closer to your vibe. Tweak it. Go again. That’s the real secret about how I built Alluviance. Messy, real, step by step.
Your chaos is calling. What’s your next step?
