Weekly Alluviance #21: The Pursuit of Greatness
YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF ALLUVIANCE!
We all have our work to do. What differentiates the "greats" is that they CHOSE to actually do their work.
Choosing to walk this path requires more than just desire and curiosity. Our first inclination when faced with "our work" may be to avoid. It's scary to come face to face with the parts of ourselves that seem daunting, overwhelming, and challenging in ways we are beyond our comfort zone.
The unfortunate news is that we will never achieve the "I figured it all out" moment, but the true masters realize that the joy is in the PURSUIT of greatness, not the greatness itself.
This weekend I'm heading into a 3-day immersion where I get to do my work. It's 72 hours of me turning off my phone, going inward, and coming face to face with the parts of me that are limiting me from being the fully me. I'll be in community with one of my coaches, Rob Renahan, where we'll be diving inward and learning to embody what the essence-led leader is.
It's hard ass shit.
And I love it.
Why do I do this? If I am going to be bringing something special and meaningful to this world and guiding others, I must first go on this journey myself. And it never stops, there's always more to discover.
