Weekly Alluviance #24: Freedom to be
YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF ALLUVIANCE!
In the spirit of the holiday weekend of American Independence (in which I spent quite a bit of time on a floatie in a pool), I am inviting you on a journey of freedom - your own freedom.
I'm going to share something with you that you've absolutely heard before, and I know that you need to hear again.
I know this because both of those statements apply to me and most sales professionals I know. I am reminded of this wisdom regularly, and it hits home. Every. Single. Time.
You are exactly where you are supposed to be on your journey.
The comparison game is toxic and not a game you can win. Nor is it even one you want to be playing. Someone always has more and is doing "better." Yes, we are constantly being measured against sales metrics, quotas, and performance goals (which have their positive purpose), but this comparison we are speaking to goes well beyond that.
You are on your own path, doing the best you can with the tools, situations and experiences you've been given. It is enough. You are enough.
Free yourself from the mental measurements to others and instead measure yourself against you. Competing against yourself to be your best version is the upgrade to benchmarking yourself against someone else's journey who is so entirely different from your own.
Drop those heavy bags of "I should be further along" or "why am I not getting results like them" and give yourself the gift of freedom to just be you.

Last week one of our reps had a "make or break" 35-person demo on an enterprise deal worth over $1.7 million. 15 min after the call, the decision maker emailed us after saying it was one of the best demos she’d ever seen. Here’s the secret to what we did, and it’s not what you think👇
3. Quote to fuel your Alluviance:
“The only journey is the one within” – Rainer Maria Rilke
In case you haven't noticed by now, I often write these posts as reminders to myself. I loved and cherished my time on the floatie in the pool and let go of any expectations that I had about how I "should be" doing anything else.
With Alluviance,
Alex Kremer
