Weekly Alluviance #65: Time as the Ultimate Sales Strategy
YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF ALLUVIANCE!
When I first heard the statement below, it was a head-turner for me. I couldn't believe this awareness had escaped me for so long. It was so profound, yet so simple, and so true.
"The most successful companies in the world aren't just selling a product or service; they are selling time."
At first I didn't get it. And then came the "oh shit" moment when it really clicked.
Companies like Uber, Amazon and even ChatGPT are masters of selling time. The magic of Uber isn't just in transporting you from point A to point B. There's so many options for that. It's the fact that you know exactly when your car will arrive and don't have to waste time hailing a taxi. Amazon saves you from having to drive to a store, hoping your item is in stock, finding the right isle, waiting on line to pay, and then driving home again. Same thing with ChatGPT. You could find almost everything that it produces somewhere on the internet, but the internet is a huge place. AI provides the answers for you in seconds.
It's all about time.
Understanding this, I now start to look at the world from this perspective of selling time. The things I'm most happy to pay for are things that save me time. I look back at previous companies that I worked for and how our products were saving people time. Hell, I even see it now with Alluviance.
What does an immersive sales experience company have to do with saving time? I'm glad you asked 😜
You could do everything we've done at Alluviance all by yourself. You could spend countless hours building your own community of high-performing sales professionals, developing curriculums around mastering the craft of sales and the inner game, coordinating dope guest speakers, going through countless immersions yourself, and finally creating in-person experiences, but that's going to take you a lot of time (and headaches and mistakes along the way).
OR... you could save all that time and join our community. Easy.
If you think about time as the ultimate currency, there will be clever and innovative ways to incorporate this strategy into your own sales pitch. If you can show your prospect that you'll save them time and help them hit an outcome that they really want, the rest is a walk in the park.
