Weekly Alluviance #9: Teach to Learn
YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF ALLUVIANCE!
Who are you teaching right now?
I've noticed that many sales professionals, especially early in their careers, often avoid teaching others. It's a disservice to others and a disservice to themselves.
Why?
When you teach something, you begin to master it.
Let's me explain - When you teach, you process and understand how you think. Teaching reveals the secrets and techniques you might not even know you're doing. And when you do that, you begin to iterate and improve on those little bits of magic.
I can assure you, no matter where you're at in your sales career, you have something to teach. Even if it's the basics that everybody already knows, it's always a great reminder to simplify things.

For this week's episode, I sat down with Jc Pollard, an account executive in the tech space and rising leader in his own right. The conversation covers a wide range of topics, from Jc's recent completion of his first marathon to his journey as a sales professional and the importance of mindset in achieving success. Jc shares his personal story of losing his mother to suicide at a young age and how he has come to embrace that experience as part of his journey. If you are wanting more authentic connections in your life, and we all most certainly do, that this one is a must for you.

"Teaching Others Why"
When you teach something you begin to master it.When I moved into sales leadership I became a much better sales professional because I was required to teach others WHY i did the things I did. I was forced to hold something out and look at it from multiple angles.
3. Quote to fuel your Alluviance:
"Teaching is the highest form of understanding." – Aristotle
As we invite others to join us in ushering in the new wave of rising leadership, we all must become teachers. Teaching helps illuminate the path for others, and it also exposes areas of improvement for ourselves. The more we teach, the more we learn, and the more we step into our role as an Alluviant Leader.
